AMC Will Free Up Movie Hall Space For Hybrid Workers To Hold Zoom Meetings

Beginning in 2023, some AMC theatergoers will arrive to watch a movie, while others may be there to attend a meeting. That’s right—the chain is no longer limiting its showings to the hottest blockbuster but also to your quarterly analysis with your boss.
The theater has partnered Zoom to make ‘Zoom Rooms’ available in 17 locations across the US. These Zoom Rooms, which are really movie halls—offer three-hour blocks to patrons who book them in advance.
AMC will also provide food and beverages, movie viewings, and concierge-style help to businesses with whatever they need at an additional cost, on top of the necessary equipment.
It’s an interesting scenario of how a business can adapt to life after the pandemic. AMC has teamed up with Zoom, no less, which has been pretty much the poster child of the remote work era.
According to Variety, AMC CEO Adam Aron posits that the inspiration for such a partnership stems from the need for reliable communications platforms, especially after the pandemic.
