To commemorate International Day of People with Disabilities, Apple has released The Greatest, a new short film that highlights how the company’s technology helps those with disabilities live more accessible lives.
The spot shines a spotlight on myriad features the firm has incorporated into its devices over the years, including Door Detection, Voice Control, Assistive Touch, Sound Recognition, and more.
As Forbes noted, Apple has taken care to make the film accessible to blind and visually-impaired individuals with audio descriptions so everyone can enjoy the heartwarming tribute to advancements in technology.
While some may rue how technology has taken over our lives, it’s important to remember that it has allowed for innovations to make daily life easier for those who suffer from physical or mental disabilities.
Fittingly, this year’s theme for the Day of People with Disabilities focuses on “transformative solutions for inclusive development [and] the role of innovation in fueling an accessible and equitable world.”
Take a look at the moving film below, and see how Apple’s technologies help those with disabilities in everyday tasks ranging from taking care of children to driving home from work.
