McDonald’s Reimagines Life In Technicolor To Celebrate Its Latest Veggie Fries
By Nicole Rodrigues, 16 Mar 2023
With the introduction of McDonald’s France’s latest menu item, veggie fries, the fast-food brand dreams of the world in technicolor.
And yes, potatoes are technically vegetables as well. However, the new offering instead offers beetroots, parsnips, and carrots.
The campaign first delivers a video where a little boy walks along the street, casting his toy wand at different objects and people and transforming their dull clothes, cars, and kiosk into vibrant colors. Later as he’s sat in the restaurant, he and his mother do the same to their fries, turning from the usual yellow into red, orange, purple, and yellow.
A print campaign accompanies the video where classic characters such as Charlie Chaplin, Zorro, a vampire, and an English guard are reimagined into a rainbow of different shades.
International advertising agency TBWA\Paris developed the advertisements to capture the imaginations of children and adults alike with a new colorful take on McDonald’s iconic fries.
