Take A Step Inside Tiffany & Co’s Revamped Flagship Store On Fifth Avenue

After months of renovation, Tiffany & Co’s flagship store on Fifth Avenue has finally resurfaced, with the brand planning to reopen its doors to eager fans later this month.
The Landmark, which has featured prominently in the neighborhood since 1940, is set to showcase its first holistic refurbishment since it first welcomed customers over eight decades ago.
According to the jeweler, its transformation is marked by the old and new, past and future, and hidden and revealed treasures. The site pays homage to the iconic building by restoring the Atlas statue and clock above the revolving doors.
Within its interior, everything has been reimagined into “a new world of wonders” by legendary architect Peter Marino and renovation firm OMA New York. An additional three-story volume was added above the existing building to replace the old office.
Take a step inside, and clients will be greeted with a dazzling main floor, illuminated by a novel iteration of a skylight. The installation, which spans nearly the length of the room, comprises an abstract arrangement of facets unique to Tiffany’s history.
The walls come to life with projections of New York City scenery, such as the picturesque views of Central Park and the Manhattan skyline. Interestingly, when switched off, the surface reverts into functional mirrors.
Wood parquet flooring is used throughout the building to commemorate the store’s original design, while a brand-new Tiffany & Co clock, inspired by the Atlas statue at its doors, will feature as one of the centerpieces on the ground level.
Art lovers will no doubt be delighted by almost 40 artworks integrated throughout the building’s 10 stories, the likes of which include never-before-seen pieces by Damien Hirst, Daniel Arsham, and more commissioned by Tiffany & Co itself.
In addition, stories eight and nine will be home to a dedicated museum and exhibition space, in which the company will display the stories behind some of its most loved concepts and experiences.
To access higher levels of the store, customers can take a walk up the sculptural spiral staircase, which features transparent balustrades with added rock crystals as a tribute to the designs of Elsa Peretti.
A Blue Box Cafe will be available for those seeking a quick bite, as Michelin-starred chef David Boulud serves up a seasonally-inspired daytime menu, breakfast, and tea.
Not forgetting the brand’s sustainability goals, the building is on track to achieve WELL Platinum certification and LEED Gold certification as proof of its eco-friendliness.
