Instagram Could Introduce AI Chatbot With Up To 30 Personalities

With the rise in the popularity of artificially-intelligent chatbots, it’s no surprise Instagram is looking to toss its hat into the ring. Famed reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi claims the social media site could soon introduce its own platform to answer users’ questions and offer advice.
More interestingly, it appears that from screenshots shared by the insider, users could choose from as many as 30 different personalities to communicate with. In addition, the chatbot could help with composing messages or joining in conversations with just a simple tag.

Other popular social media platforms, including the likes of Snapchat, have tried their hand at integrating AI chatbots. However, in this case, My AI lacked age-gating features and ended up providing inappropriate advice to a reporter who registered as a teenager.
It remains to be seen how Instagram’s own chatbot will fair. But the revelation of the forthcoming feature isn’t a complete surprise, considering CEO Mark Zuckerberg did announce back in February that a team was working on “AI personas” for all of Meta’s applications.
