‘Stockcam’ Is A Camera Cage That Lets You Literally ‘Shoot’ Images & Videos

Know someone whose love for shooting extends beyond firearms? Well, as first spotted by Sony Alpha Rumors, the Stockcam is the perfect gun-shaped camera cage for shutterbugs who are as thrilled by photographers as shooting ranges.
“Capture your world in three modes with our gun-shaped camera cage. Freeze the moment, focus on the action, or record it all with ease. Don’t miss a shot—take control with our versatile camera cage,” its creators claim.
As PetaPixel pointed out, this isn’t the first time photography has merged with firearms. One iconic example of such an accessory is the Zenit Photosniper, a rig dating back to the Soviet era that was designed to resemble a gun.
Similar to the Photosniper, the Stockcam comes complete with a gun trigger that allows photographers to control the camera’s shutter. There’s even a ‘fire mode’ switch for users to switch between a ‘safety mode’, ‘focus mode’, and ‘fast mode’ for videos.
Thankfully, it seems the camera cage was designed to work with a variety of cameras from a range of manufacturers and is compatible with DSLR and mirrorless models from Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Panasonic, Sony, and more.
If the Stockcam isn’t enough on its own, photographers can choose to attach other components to its 360-degree Picatinny rails, including the likes of grips and bipods. It also works with lighting and audio equipment for videography.
Need to switch out lenses? Simply attach the extras to the extendable rifle stock so you can change them on the go—much like how a soldier would with a gun’s magazine. The entire cage can even be attached to the top of a tripod for additional stability if needed.
While the Stockcam isn’t available for purchase at the moment, it’s expected to launch on Indiegogo in the near future. Head here for more details.
