LEGO Reveals Magnificent Disney Castle With ‘Fireworks’ You Can Dream Up At Home
By Mikelle Leow, 21 Jun 2023
A dream is a wish your heart makes. Well, if you’ve been wishing for your very own castle like the ones at Disneyland or Disney World, that dream—and much, much more—is finally coming true. Only, you can’t live in it; but at least it won’t turn into a pumpkin like the carriage in Cinderella.
LEGO is transforming the bare necessities of your living space into something truly magical with an intricate, Easter egg-filled interpretation of the Disney castle, in commemoration of the Mouse of House’s grand 100th-anniversary celebrations.
With an incredible 4,837 pieces, this magnificent piece of architecture tops the toymaker’s 2016 edition by nearly 800 parts.
The castle isn’t just rekindling memories of your childhood trips to Disneyland, or even the opening logos in films, but it also pays tribute to 14 Disney classics that have helped define the franchise over the past century. These include Steamboat Willie (AKA the first edition of Mickey Mouse), Snow White (the very first Disney Princess), Moana, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog; and more.
The inside of the castle set is worth exploring as well, with rooms like a dining room, kitchen, ballroom, and bedroom conjuring up the movies’ iconic styles. Each references elements from Disney’s archives, says LEGO in a press release.
Fans can parade their love of the animations with eight Disney minifigures too, or have the characters live inside this glamorized dollhouse.
No physical Disney castle is complete without fireworks, and this one doesn’t disappoint. The kit’s 4,837 pieces include firework-like structures to light up your room day and night.
The fantastical model will come alive at LEGO stores across the world and online from July 4, 2023 for US$399.99, but not without launching for VIP EA members on July 1 first.
