There’s been a rumpus in the playroom! Bluey, the beloved Australian children’s television series, has captured hearts of all ages with its relatable portrayal of family life—exploring themes of imagination, sibling squabbles, and parental bonds that globally resonate in spite of its Australian setting and slang. While the animated series seeks to touch on various facets of parenting and childhood, one episode, Dad Baby, never made it to Disney+ in North America. Luckily, the “banned” episode has finally found a home on YouTube, allowing it to be enjoyed by fans all over.
Taking place during the Heeler family’s playtime, Dad Baby features ever-enthusiastic dad Bandit taking on the role of a pregnant parent, with Bluey and Bingo stepping up as caregivers.
The episode’s portrayal of male pregnancy, delivered with Bluey’s signature humor and warmth, is believed to be the reason for its initial exclusion on Disney+. There’s even a scene depicting a lighthearted (and non-graphic) labor simulation, capturing the birthing process in a playful way.
The release of Dad Baby on YouTube by the official Bluey YouTube channel itself drives home the show’s intent to connect with myriad viewers and spark conversations with modern families. You can watch it for free below.
