Burger King has cooked up a new perk of staying indoors by bringing its out-of-home billboards into the homes of customers.
The latest campaign, called Home Of The Billboards, was produced by creative agency David Buenos Aires. It attempts to bribe customers with a free Whopper sandwich when they use Burger King’s billboards as virtual backdrops in video conferences.
All you have to do is download a billboard photo from Burger King’s Twitter account and use it during a video call, then take a photo of the conference, upload it on Twitter and tag @BurgerKing along with the hashtag “#HomeOfTheBillboards.”
The company will then send you a direct message with a free one-for-one code, entitling you to a free second Whopper for every Whopper you order through the Burger King app. The deal is only available in select US restaurants and not with delivery, and will run until this Friday.
Burger King previously also launched a free Whopper giveaway that gives you a free burger if you manage to catch its floating QR code on television.
everyone’s staying inside, and our billboards are going to waste with no one out there to see them. sooo we made backgrounds. use these on a video call, post a screenshot with @BurgerKing and #HomeOfTheBillboards & we’ll DM you a BOGO Whopper coupon for being our new #ad pic.twitter.com/Y2t6D3RReO
