Apple’s new improvements to existing AirPods Pro will be music to users’ ears. During WWDC 2020, the tech giant confirmed that it will amplify the sound quality in the wireless headphones—and the best part is that t will come at no cost.
The new feature, which it calls ‘Spatial Audio’, replicates the workings of a theater sound system using an algorithm to simulate the targeting of audio towards you from every direction—sideways, forward and backward, and even overhead—as you watch movies or television shows through your iPhone or iPad, LifeWire reports.
The technology keeps up with you even when you move your head or device around. The algorithm senses where your head is, and creates the illusion of audio coming from the screen in front of you, rather than simply projecting it at your head.
‘Spatial Audio’ will soon be made available in a firmware update.
