Kanye West has unveiled his first plans following his announcement to run for president. Earlier this week, the rapper showed off an early look at YZY SHLTRS, his prefabricated domed dwellings designed for the homeless.
West previously shared that he was working on 50-foot YEEZY Homes, but the idea was unfortunately scrapped after he had neglected to get the permits required by the Los Angeles County Department of Works and neighbors had complained about the noise from the construction.
However, the project seems to be back up under a new name. West tweeted a photo of the work in progress with the caption, “YZY SHLTRS in process #2020VISION.”
The YEEZY founder described the former version of YZY SHLTRS to be inspired by Star Wars’ Tatooine homes.
Whether or not West is legitimately running for president remains to be known. The rapper had made similar claims in the past without showcasing any political efforts.
It would also be too late to enter as an independent candidate in some major states by now, though he’ll still be able to appear on the ballot if he registers in time for the deadlines in areas including “Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Ohio, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Utah, Pennsylvania,” according to Billboard.
