Remote working has become the global norm, and people are using this time of isolation to upgrade their skillsets. LinkedIn’s collection of educational material, though, has been a popular resource even before the COVID-19 crisis.
Users have been paying a subscription fee of US$29.99 per month, or monthly payments of US$24.99 for an annual membership, to be able to watch over 10,000 expert-led classes on the LinkedIn Learning platform.
Others can now have a taste of this service, as LinkedIn has released its top 20 courses for free until 30 September.
Predictably, the most popular courses now are in line with changes driven by the pandemic. In fact, topping the list is time management expert Dave Crenshaw’s two-hour course, ‘Time Management: Working from Home’, which teaches you how to maximize productivity while handling personal responsibilities at home.
There’s also a ‘Communicating with Confidence’ class by communications trainer Jeff Ansell, an ‘Improving Your Listening Skills’ course by professional speaker Dorie Clark, and a ‘Developing Your Emotional Intelligence’ module by psychologist Gemma Leigh Roberts. These might help you better connect with coworkers during rigid virtual meetings.
A number of the listed courses are focused on helping you learn new skills, including a couple of Python coding-related classes and Microsoft Excel training.
According to LinkedIn, the time spent learning through its platform “has tripled over the past year,” since more are now working from home. To date, its most coveted courses have been attended by over three million people.
To get started, simply check out LinkedIn Learning’s list of top 20 courses and select a class, which will be free until 30 September. You won’t even need an account to access it.
A few highlights from the selection can be viewed below.
