A manipulated photo of rappers Ice Cube and 50 Cent in “Trump” hats has gone viral on social media.
Eric Trump tweeted the altered photo, writing, “Two great, courageous Americans.” The image, which has since been taken down, featured Ice Cube and 50 Cent sitting together, both wearing hats that read “Trump 2020.”
Ice Cube tweeted the original photo back in July, as part of a birthday message to 50 Cent. In the original snap, they both wore baseball caps with sports logo. 50 Cent’s cap featured the New York Yankees logo while Ice Cube’s hat was printed with the phrase “Big 3.”
Ice Cube has responded to Trump’s viral image, tweeting, “N***a please.” The rapper gained attention after Trump campaign adviser Katrina Pierson said he was working with the Trump administration on its platform for African Americans.
He later clarified on CNN that he has neither endorsed Trump nor Joe Biden. Biden and Trump, however, have reached out to him regarding his “Contract with Black Americans,” which aims to address racism and present “a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice.”
