KFC has released a new video showing the renders of its redesigned restaurants inspired by the COVID-19 era.
The two new designs focus on more drive-thru spaces and restrictions on human contact. The company noted that the revamp brings more attention to delivery rather than dining in the restaurants.
The company’s current store aesthetic, called the ‘American Showman’, will be replaced by one of the two new concepts.
The first design will feature a more contemporary-looking dining area and be smaller in size. The other concept showcases two lanes for drive-thru with one of them specifically for mobile order pickup. This option will also feature an outdoor seating area, dubbed as ‘Colonel’s Porch’.
Both renderings include brighter branding that highlights the red and white strips of KFC’s emblem. They also sport a red bucket that leads customers to a “cubby system” for online and pickup orders.
The official designs will start rolling out next year in three US locations, including West Palm Beach, Indianapolis, and central Kentucky.
