McDonald’s Japan has introduced nutritious offerings for its Happy Meals.
With health-conscious parents and children in mind, the fast-food chain has come up with a list of vegetable-centric side dishes that include sweet corn, edamame soybeans, yogurt and salad.
Its main dish options, however, remain the same. Customers are able to build their Happy Meals around cheeseburgers, hamburgers, pancakes and chicken nuggets, with drink options of milk, apple juice, orange juice, Sokenbicha tea and vegetable juice. They can also opt for fries instead of the nutritious options.
McDonald’s Japan continues to provide a popular picture book campaign, where parents can opt for a free book instead of a free toy when they purchase the Happy Meal.
“We made it so that dads and moms who are primarily concerned about their kids’ growth and development can choose the perfect Happy Meal set to put their minds at ease. And above all else, we made it so that children can eat their meals with gusto. We’ve prepared an extensive menu for you to choose from while taking nutritional needs into account and giving children the chance to grow and develop,” the fast-food chain said.
