Despite it being a rather subdued year for film, no thanks to the pandemic, the 93rd Academy Awards still awarded the best and brightest in showbiz.
Nomadland brought home the most golden trophies, with three Oscars in total. It won Best Picture, with director Chloé Zhao also winning Best Director, becoming only the second woman ever to receive the accolade.
Frances McDormand clinched the award for Best Actress, making her the first woman to win Oscars for both Best Picture and Best Actress. She’s also tied with Meryl Streep for the most Best Actress wins with three trophies.
The night’s biggest upset, however, was in the category of best actor. Anthony Hopkins won for his leading role in The Father, a surprise victory over frontrunner the late Chadwick Boseman, who starred in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
Below are the rest of the night’s winners.
