Keeping true to the ages “4–99” statement printed on its boxes, LEGO has been actively designing complex yet mindful sets for people who have supposedly outgrown toy bricks. These include plastic Adidas Superstar sneakers, a retro typewriter model, Rome’s Colosseum, and flower arrangement sets.
Now, Brick Fanatics reports that the LEGO Group has started sending Adults Welcome catalogs to mailboxes, so grownups can discover age-appropriate kits in between their letters and credit card statements. A video by YouTuber Alex Nunes shows that the copies are swathed in the very mature shade of black, as opposed to the usual vivid hues.
In the same vein, LEGO has recently opened an ‘Adults Welcome’ category on its site for adults to quickly unearth therapeutic sets. These cover entertainment, vehicles, art and design, travel and history, sports and games, and Star Wars.
LEGO explains that the kits are meant to get builders in “the zone… a physiological change that makes us feel happier, more productive and creative.”
