Following the loudly branded trains running on New York City’s L-line, streetwear giant Supreme has no plans to tone down on any of its collaborations for the coming fall-winter 2021 season.
In fact, the trains seem almost normal now, when you take in the previews of some of this season’s latest products, revealed Monday.

Among regular patterns and logo-focused designs, splashed liberally across the freshest hoodies, jackets, shirts, and signature beanies, a rather familiar neon green stands out. A small pair of ears peek out, and the all-too-familiar font reveals itself… it’s Shrek.

First released to instant success in the early 2000s, the Shrek film franchise celebrated its 20th anniversary in May 2021. In this time, the ogre has gone from iconic animated movie star to a meme go-to and general pop culture icon. Now, he’s a certified hypebeast, too.
Mixed with equal parts horror, aversion, anticipation, and fascination, social media users have descended onto Twitter to react to the unexpected collaboration.

Other offerings by the quintessential streetwear cult brand include firewood, a luxury bed, a bowling ball, a ping-pong table, a wheat-colored Nike Air Force 1 (which is said to be a meme waiting to happen), and Skittles—in the form of the candy, and a balaclava.

And, of course, Shrek’s hypebeast cameo. It makes its appearance over a black tee, embroidered onto the signature Supreme beanies, and is also branded proudly across three skate decks.
Not your typical seasonal streetwear collection, that’s for sure.
