If you’re a subscriber to Apple’s iCloud+, it’s time to update your devices to the latest iOS 15 system.
Apart from highlights such as Focus Mode, Notification Summary, and Live Text, there’s a lesser-known feature that’s equally great.
Aptly named ‘Hide My Mail’, this new function helps those who wish to conceal their email addresses from pesky websites. It allows users to create a temporary email address, which isn’t linked to their details, but will still forward relevant messages to their usual inbox.
This could come in handy when signing up for one-time websites or apps that you don’t want flooding your main inbox. According to CNBC, users can create as many burner email accounts as needed, and delete them once they’re no longer in use.
However, as hinted earlier, the feature is only available to subscribers of iCloud+. If you’re keen on the burner emails, it’s possible to sign up for the US$0.99 monthly plan, which will give you access to Hide My Mail, along with additional storage space.
