PlayStation is Bringing Play To Phones Following Mobile Game Acquisition

Sony’s PlayStation is venturing into a new gaming frontier as it moves to acquire developer Savage Game Studios, heralding a new format for the company.
Savage Game Studios is a mobile game developer that is now part of the Sony family. The company is opening up a PlayStation Mobile Studio to dedicate part of its gaming software to creating apps for smartphone users to play.
Sony claims that the new business will run separately from its console-based initiatives and will concentrate on providing its fans with mobile entertainment based on the PlayStation IP.
A triple-A mobile live service game is already in development, according to Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios. With this, it’s clear to see that the new gaming division is creating a whole new roster of dedicated games for apps.
Smartphone apps aren’t the only new venture that Sony is looking to conquer. In fact, the company released its Marvel’s Spiderman game on the PC earlier this year, and the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection games will be available on the desktop.
Mobile gaming is entering a new era as brands such as Netflix and TikTok, which do not have their roots in gaming, are also looking to expand into this scene.
